Around the Web

Browsing various websites for new products is one of my absolute (and sloth promoting) activities. Sitting in a warm blanket while browsing for new ideas and good reads is always at the top of my list. These have been my favorite places to stop this week. Some shopping and pretty pictures: what’s not to adore?

1. My favorite stationary stop has recently offered free wallpaper and background images!
2. Seven new exhibitions spotlighting Vogue photographers, including Demarchelier and Leibovitz.
3. An adorable site featuring custom blog design, prints and even pencils.
4. Decor inspiration from Pottery Barn, featuring discounted pillar candles!
5. My favorite of the week: A perfectly curated shop featuring exclusive French-inspired products. I absolutely must have that suitcase.

Have fun exploring these sites – hopefully they’ll offer a bit of inspiration!

Life Lately

Hi all! Sorry for the seemingly extensive blogging hiatus! I’ve been quite devoted to some academic pursuits, but I’m now back! It’s been great to start thinking of new topics to post about. As you can probably tell, it’s been an extremely busy couple of weeks! Instead of planning semi-fashionable outfits, I’ve resigned myself to sweats and old t-shirts (previously owned by men much larger than myself), which has been liberating and has brought out my inner slug. Getting dressed to be presentable at work has been such a challenge: I cannot count the times that I’ve asked Jack if these slim fit fleece pants could pass for these meant-to-be-worn-in-public Wayf’s. Time and time again he burst my delusional bubble with his honest hesitation. Woe is me.
As I force myself to start dressing like a grown up again, let’s hope you’re content with looking at pretty iPhone pictures! The highlights of the week included buying a print for our dog’s room (yup), wearing a lot of neon, seeing Audra live, creating/finishing a Rome scrapbook layout, finally getting to peruse the September issue à la Anna, and redecorating our office! All delightfully fun activities!
On a random note, it’s felt a lot like fall lately, which is amazing. Bring on the cooler weather!

Have a great day! Be sure to follow along on Instagram: @rachealjade

Friday Finds: Caitlin Wilson Textiles

I’m really excited about this amazing company and designer! I’ve known about Caitlin Wilson‘s amazing talents for several years now – prior to seeing her collections. You see, I was on the same study abroad as her fiance (now husband) several years ago and even though we had never met her, all of us were intrigued with the perfect person he always spoke so highly of. We knew she was an interior designer and we definitely knew she was ultra-stylish. Fast-forward a couple of years and this talented lady has produced some of the most popular, beautiful decorative pillows and fabrics. She describes her design aesthetic as “sophisticated and unique but…not limited to one style.” Her designs are colorful and pair quite easily with each other–making for one gorgeous space!

You can purchase her lovely designs on her website or Waiting on Martha!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is about halfway over and I continue to find new products that I love! I know that I certainly shouldn’t buy them all, but I thought that maybe you’d find two or three things that you’d want as well. My favorite purchase so far? Those adorable “Eat Cake for Breakfast” dessert plates! The plates are utterly fantastic. They are the perfect size and the colors are delightful. I also picked the watch in the tortoise shell & gold. I love the combo! I hope you enjoy the second round of picks. Also, have a great Friday and of course, weekend!
