Disney Day

Ah, Disneyland. It honestly never gets old for us! It was truly a magical day and we loved exploring the parks together. We try to do something we’ve never done before and this time, we watched the exclusive preview of Malificent! It made me sooo much more excited for the movie! I’ve been having some issues with vertigo lately, so my protective husband pretended that he didn’t even want to ride Screamin’—his favorite ride. I was so impressed with his concern! What a perfectly swell guy.

We throw all nutritional goals out the window when we go to Disneyland. There’s no way to restrict yourself (okay, it’s possible, but not for us—haha) while in the park. We hardly eat meals because we love eating all of our favorite snacks! We ended the day watching Fantasmic and riding Splash Mountain one more time! We left the park completely soaked and were shivering all the way to the hotel. A perfectly suitable way to end a marvelous day!

BalboaCollage

I’ve been loving editing all our vacation pictures—it’s so easy to forget about captured moments and I’ve been able to re-live everything! As always, I am simultaneously happy and sad. Why can’t vacations last for months at a time?

Our day afternoon shopping and wandering around Balboa was spectacular. There’s nothing better than holding hands and exploring new places. This was perfect for us! Jack was able to enjoy the sunshine while I snapped away happily. We even had a wildlife sighting! Two portly sea lions had commandeered a sailboat and were sunbathing peacefully on top.Not sure how the owner of the boat would have felt about that, but it was extremely entertaining for all the spectators! After riding the ferry to the peninsula, we stopped for corn dogs and lemonade at Jane’s Corn Dogs . If you love sugar, try the lemonade. Trust me. In an effort to pay homage to The O.C., we rode the ferris wheel and ate Balboa Bars (you could say we used to be obsessed with the show…Seth + Summer 4EVER). The views were so wonderful and offered the perfect photo ops. We ended the afternoon by riding the ferry back and taking a few more photos of the gorgeous houses. Overall, it was an outstanding day. An afternoon (or day) on Balboa is highly recommended!

Wednesday Wishlist

Up until last weekend, I hadn’t been shopping in about two months! Crazy, right? It’s amazing how much less I spend when I’m busy with other things! It’s all been very helpful for our budget attempts. I spent a few hours last night looking for a few key wardrobe pieces for summer and was overwhelmed by all the cute stuff. My favorite? The white dress with blue embroidery from ASOS. One of my friends recently posted a picture wearing it and I loved it immediately. It pretty much begs to be taken on a sun-filled holiday, don’t ya think? Happy shopping!
