“Florals? For spring. Groundbreaking.”

One of my all-time favorite movies is also one that my husband can’t seem to sit through. He is an absolute champ when it comes to chick flicks and generally doesn’t complain, but I think he’d rather see the Red Sox win than watch Anne Hathaway make her chic transformation in The Devil Wears Prada. Although I’m not the biggest Hathaway fan, I am a loyal fan of Stanley Tucci and of course, all things Meryl. Her performance in this movie is inspiring. Truly. Who would have thought that it was possible to make workplace hierarchies and demeaning behaviors hilarious? Having recently received a piercing gaze from the real life Miranda Priestly, I can honestly prescribe the following: if you’re ever in a London bathroom alone with Anna Wintour, it’s best to not make eye contact with the iconic, sunglass wearing figure before you. Because although her British sense of propriety and decorum insist that she return the polite facial gesture, you’ll still feel massively intimated and horrifically underdressed. With that, enjoy these magnificent spring-inspired picks! I’m sure Anna would approve of at least one of them. Happy Friday.

The Victoria’s Secret Sale!

Hurray for Friday, right? We have plans to hang out at home and breathe a bit, which are generally the best sort of plans. I hope to squeeze in some shopping because it feels like I haven’t wandered my favorite stores in a long, long time. The weather is deceiving and it appears to be spring outside, but in reality, it’s still a frigid ice box. My hopeful side showed through last night when I was browsing the Victoria’s Secret sale! While there are some cold weather items, there are lots of great swimming suits and items for summer! I can’t recommend it enough. Enjoy!

Weekend Digest: A Surprise Sleepover

Happy Monday everyone! I honestly can’t believe I’m back at work already—disappointing. The weekends go by so quickly. That’s probably the most cliche thing I’ve ever written, but it’s absolutely true. The level of fun this weekend partially made up for having to work for another five days…

Friday evening was probably our best Valentine’s Day celebration so far! We headed up to Salt Lake for dinner at Settebello then checked into the Grand America. Rather than join the majority of the guests in the lounge, we were truly posh and explored the ballrooms and leaped and waltzed around like school children. There’s nothing more entertaining than dancing the Landler scene like Captain von Trapp and Maria in the Regency-inspired ballroom. After a few pirouettes and jetes (and sideways glances by the hotel cleaning staff), we decided it was time to watch Olympics and eat mounds of mint truffles. I couldn’t have asked for anything better from my sweet valentine. I’m so happy we were able to laugh, gain five pounds and just enjoy the time together.

Currently Obsessed: Red, Pink & Gold

Happy Valentine’s Day all! I’m so thrilled for today. It’s truly one of my favorite days. I feel like it’s an excuse to eat all the chocolate I can. I usually start around 9 a.m. and can go through lunch. Talented. I love all the red, pink, white and gold that accompanies today and I have selected my favorites to share today! Have a wonderful day and eat something sweet today!
