A Very Special Birthday

‘Love’ Bracelet || Spiked bracelet || Chevron cuff (gold version here and here)

We recently celebrated the birthday of one of our best friends! We met up with friends at a restaurant downtown – Old Towne Grille – for some catching up and a delicious meal. Only the birthday boy had been there before, but we trusted him! Once our drinks came, we were hooked. It was the most outstanding lemonade! Perfect for the hot summer day. The popular use of the Mason jar fit in quite nicely with the ambiance.
We chatted for about two hours until we were caught up on each other’s lives. After several hugs and laughs, it was time to leave (never my favorite party). We promised to do it again very soon of course! I absolutely loved every minute of seeing these wonderful people.

P.S. Aren’t those bracelets perfect with each other? My friend always has the best jewelry. The adorable ‘Love’ bracelet is my favorite and perfectly priced, but I do have the spiked bracelet and it truly does go with almost anything. You can check out her talented, artistic side here.

Have the most marvelous weekend.

Over the Weekend

Happy Monday, friends! We did something pretty fun for dinner yesterday and I thought I’d share! So, when we were living in London, we were a bit obsessed with a few things: walking along South Bank, the West End, jogging through Putney Heath and of course, Nando’s. It was our go-to weekday dinner date because it was so easy and laid back and well, delicious. Yesterday evening we decided to re-create our favorite menu item: chicken breast pittas!
It was extremely easy and we also made a bit of creamy mash on the side. All you need for each pitta is a pita pocket, grilled chicken breast, a slice of your favorite cheese (we used provolone), a bit of lettuce and whatever veggies you’d like to add! YUM. Thanks to my lovely sis-in-law we even had the delicious PERi-PERi sauce from Nando’s! It was the perfect addition. Not a big fan of spicy? I always use extra virgin olive oil and our favorite Italian balsamic vinegar. It’s my favorite!
I hope you get to try this awesome dinner! Have a great week! P.S. You can order PERi-PERi sauce online from Nando’s or get great recipe ideas too!

Over the Weekend…

Happy Monday! I hope you had a spectacular weekend! We had a jam packed, extremely fun weekend. It was hard to believe when it was already 8 p.m. on Sunday night! We started the weekend off right with a simple Friday date night complete with a yummy salad in comfy sneakers. It started off our low-key, easy weekend in just the right way.
We got up bright and early on Saturday morning for an afternoon of waverunning and paddleboarding! Our first time paddleboarding was, well, interesting on the severely choppy water. Apparently, it’s supposed to be a relatively easy activity…not so. It was so windy that someone was losing their balance every five minutes or so! We were definitely a sight to see. People were giggling and children were pointing, but we had a fantastic time nonetheless! Big thanks to our fun friends for the great activity!
Later that evening, I dragged myself off the bed following an extremely long nap. I was exhausted from our water excursion! I met up with my beautiful friend at the Utah Style Icon Awards for a great evening. Held at an onsite venue at Thanksgiving Point, the event was beautifully decorated and perfectly hosted. It was so fun to get dressed up and have a great girls’ night with some talented ladies!
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing and reading. Miss B entertained us quite a bit as well! Hope your weekend was spectacular!

Weekend Moments

Obviously, the highlight of our weekend was our major cross-city bike ride. It didn’t seem very far at first, but wow. Just wow. We were completely sore the rest of the weekend. We started out completely confident, but about eight miles in, we were ready for a break. Luckily, it came in the form of a massive, public swing attached to a rather large tree. The surrounding area beautiful and we were able to laugh and be completely  carefree for a few minutes. Two miles later, we were rewarded by free entry to the state park and the unbelievable sunset over the lake.
Sunday was relaxing as ever and just what we needed for our sore legs. As usual, Miss B took a two-hour snooze on the couch on her recently usurped Restoration Hardware blanket. Who is this dog? Not like we bought them for us or anything. The other Bella highlight was bath time. The usual struggle ensued. Running away. Hiding in dark rooms. I truly don’t understand why it seems like such torture for her. Anyone? Insights?
Finally, we were on Royal Baby Watch throughout the weekend. What is taking so long? Why no update? The world needs answers.

Isn’t that quote lovely? Such wise words. Have a splendid week!
